Tips from the Workshop
Smart moves before you build.
Quick lessons we wish more first-time builders knew. New tips added as we learn.
Power Supply
Tip 01
Buy more wattage than you think you need.
A quality 750W PSU on a build that draws 500W runs cooler, quieter, and lasts longer than a 600W unit pushed to its limit. Headroom is not wasted, it is insurance.
RAM
Tip 02
Speed matters more than capacity past 32GB.
For most gaming and work setups, 32GB of fast DDR5 will outperform 64GB of slow DDR5. Buy the speed first, add capacity later if you actually need it.
Storage
Tip 03
One fast NVMe beats two slow SSDs.
A single 1TB Gen 4 NVMe will load games and boot Windows faster than two 500GB SATA drives combined. Skip the old tech, your future self will thank you.
Cooling
Tip 04
Air coolers are not outdated.
A good $40 air cooler outperforms most $150 AIO liquid coolers on mid-range CPUs, lasts twice as long, and never leaks. Save the liquid for the high end.
Cases
Tip 05
Airflow beats RGB every time.
A boring mesh-front case with three intake fans will cool your build better than a glass-walled showpiece with closed panels. Performance first, lights second.
GPUs
Tip 06
Last-gen flagship beats this-gen mid-range.
A used RTX 4080 often outperforms a new RTX 5070 for the same money. Generations matter less than tier when you compare apples to apples.
Motherboards
Tip 07
You probably do not need the premium board.
Unless you are overclocking heavily or running multiple GPUs, a $180 mid-range B-series board will run your CPU just as well as a $400 X-series flagship.
The Build
Tip 08
Read the manual before you start.
Every motherboard and case manual answers 90 percent of the questions you will Google mid-build. Five minutes of reading saves an hour of troubleshooting.

FAQ
Questions we get asked a lot.
Do not see yours? Trev is in the corner, or just reach out.
Pick your parts in our builder, we check compatibility automatically, and you check out in one order. We source from Canadian suppliers and ship to your door, then our guide walks you through the build, or we can assemble it for you.
No. Atlas is built for first-timers. Every part is explained, the builder flags anything that will not fit, and our guide walks you through assembly. Trev is in the corner if you get stuck.
Yes. Every part is brand new from authorized Canadian suppliers. No used, no refurbished, no mystery swaps.
It depends on what you build. The builder shows the real price of every part with no hidden markup, so you see your exact total before you commit.
Inside Canada we handle everything and ship to your door. Outside Canada we do not ship, but you can still build with our tools and buy each part directly from Amazon in your country through our links. Either way you get the full Atlas experience.
The builder marks it so you cannot add it and suggests a comparable alternative. We restock regularly.
Yes. Add whatever you want to your cart and check out, even a single component.
Prebuilt brands hide what is inside, mark up the parts, and sometimes swap in cheaper components. Atlas shows you every part and explains what it does, so you stay in control of your build and your money.
Like any retailer, we make a margin on the parts we sell, plus an optional flat fee if you want us to assemble the build. The price you see in the builder is the price you pay, no surprise charges at checkout.
Every part comes with its manufacturer warranty, and we handle returns for anything that shows up dead or damaged within our return window. Full details are in our Terms.
Your dream PC is closer than you think.
Stop overpaying for prebuilts. Stop feeling lost when picking parts. Atlas Workshop puts you in control, every part explained, every price transparent, and a guide that helps you along the way.
